April is often a busy time of year to go skiing, with the first couple of weeks in the month clashing with the Easter school holidays. However, if you are not restricted to skiing when the school are off and if you don't mind waiting until the end of the season for your ski trip, then you can often get yourself a bargain! The second, and especially the 3rd week in April are traditionally very well priced but you do have to be conscious of the snow conditions. If you are looking to ski in Austria then resorts such as Obergurgl are very popular due to the snow security that they offer but prices in these resorts are higher than elsewhere as a result. If you are looking for a deal why not trying somewhere like St Anton. It does not offer a guarantee of late season snow and the village is only at 1304m, but it does have a very good late season snow record and the prices in April are much cheaper than they are at most other times of the season.
