Pension Bergheil

The Pension Bergheil has a strong reputation – built largely upon its excellent location and superb homely service. With the local free ski bus stop just outside, you’ll have no problems accessing the local Maiskogel lifts, up to the glacier or over to Zell am See’s ski area. The Bergheil has a refreshingly modern finish but it also stays true to its traditional roots. The rooms are a good size with enough storage space and are kept spotless. At the foot of the Kitzsteinhorn glacier, Kaprun has some lovely beginner and intermediate pistes on its lower slopes – as well as a few extreme runs up on the glacier, like the steep and deep Black Mamba. And Zell am See is a short ski bus away, so there’s lots more mileage within reach. Kaprun’s sprawling alpine village has an excellent public pools and spa centre and some lively restaurants and bars on and off the slopes. Don’t miss the Ice Camp, a series of interconnected igloos, complete with ice bar, ice lounge and sun deck.
