The pictures say it all - this is a seriously impressive hotel! It looks like it's about to take off but you'll be very comfortable wherever you're going! With three separate buildings hosting the four star superior hotel, the treatment rooms and saunas, and the 20,000m2 Waterworld, this is a hotel which is all about relaxation.
Stay in modern style and ultimate luxury with super attentive service from the hotel's hospitality team. As well as the amazing spa and wellness facilities, the hotel also has an incredible culinary reputation. Using only the finest ingredients, many from the local region, the hotel aims to take you on a culinary journey of discovery - perfect after building up an appetite on the slopes.
Rest and relaxation is incredibly easy at Tauern Spa. With an impressive 20,000 m² (that's 20 square kilometres!) of spa, 11 swimming pools, 10 saunas and steam rooms and even a children's spa with a 127m tube slide, you simply can't forget your swimming costume! Our favourite has to be the rooftop panorama spa and outdoor heated pools with views across to the Kitzteinhorn glacier - not to be missed.
The relaxation doesn't stop there as the hotel offers massage and beauty treatments including body and facial treatments, treatments for men and children, THALGO treatments and even a private spa for couples.
Location:
Forming one half of the 138km ski area and about a 15 minute bus ride from lively Zell am See is the more laid-back resort of Kaprun. It's a really charming resort which is smaller than Zell with a much more rustic feel. It's not a sleepy village though as you'll still have a selection of bars and restaurants too choose from, some with traditional Austrian bar games like bowling and the classic hammerschlagen (hammering six inch nails into a stump!).
2019/20 sees a brand new gondola which joins Kaprun village and the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier. It's called The K – Connection and it finally means skiers and snowboarders no longer have to catch a bus to the base of the glacier meaning more time on the mountain!
For a more lively nightlife scene, equally picturesque scenery and great skiing for all levels, Zell am See is one of Austria's best loved lakeside resorts. On the mountain, it has a nice mix of runs that are perfect for complete beginners to the advanced.
When you're not exploring the area, head into the Old Town of Zell and you'll be absolutely charmed by its magical medieval setting. The town is awash with cafés, bars and restaurants suiting all different budgets and tastes. Après starts on the mountain at around 3pm, the Berghotel is a good place to kick off!
