A change is afoot at the Posthotel Mayrhofen. There's a lot of revamping going on ready for the new season - and it's not just a lick of paint. Plans include a new lift and sauna area.
The Posthotel is not too far from the gondolas - about 10 minutes to the Penken - though the ski buses stop pretty much outside the front door so you don't need to trek there in your ski boots. You'll get a hearty Zillertal breakfast to fuel your day on the slopes and then in the evening you have a choice - either upgrade to half board and grab your dinner at the nearby Hotel Rose or stick with bed and breakfast and explore the variety of restaurants in Mayrhofen.

Austrian twin beds
Austrian twin beds are very common in Central Europe. They’re simply one large bed frame containing two single mattresses, both with separate duvets and linen sets, that cannot be separated. Separate twin beds are less common and can often be head to head beds, rather than side by side, if they are available.
