Location

Ideally located on the ski slopes of the Alpe d'Huez Grand Domaine, the Chalets de l'Altiport provide you with the perfect ski-in, ski-out accommodation. The chalets are exclusively located in a tranquil area higher up the mountain approximately 500m from the bustling centre of the Alpe d’Huez resort, where numerous bars restaurants and boutiques can be found, as well as a swimming pool, leisure centre, ice rink and cinema.

The chalets are a short walk from Les Bergers, where our ski hire shop is conveniently located and a free shuttle bus runs frequently to the resort centre.

A charming and peaceful base, ski direct from your front door to the gentle slopes bordering the resort, which are ideal for beginners. More experienced skiers can venture straight out to the lifts at Les Bergers, giving you direct access to the larger Alpe d’Huez ski area.

The Chalets

Beautifully furnished, each of the chalets are decorated in the traditional Savoyarde style, with large fireplaces, wood and stone interiors and deep colours giving the rooms a warm feel. There is plenty of space in all of the rooms, with a large open-plan living area with a fireplace and satellite television.

An American kitchen with all the modern amenities, including hotplates, an oven and a microwave oven, a dishwasher, extractor fan and fridge, plus all crockery and pans, allows guests to cook and eat as and when they should want. The chalets offer guests total comfort and space, sleeping up to 16 people, with multiple en-suite bathrooms and toilets. Each of the chalets offers its own private balcony or terrace providing panoramic views of the mountains plus a private sauna or hot-tub in which to unwind, while cars can be parked in the private parking space or garage.

On this floor there are 2 bedrooms each with 2 single beds and and ensuite shower room, one of which also has a balcony. The second floor has 1 double bedroom with ensuite shower room, 1 bedroom with 2 single beds and an ensuite shower room (these rooms share a balcony) and 1 bedroom with 2 single beds, an ensuite bathroom and a balcony.

This three-floored, 200-210m² chalet consists of a large living room with a fireplace, television, fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, hot plates, traditional oven and microwave, extractor fan and refrigerator.

There are six bedrooms (two or three of which are on the ground floor) with two single beds or one double bed and a shower room and toilet. A further two bedrooms have two single beds or one double bed each, with bathrooms and a toilet. The chalet also comes with a sauna and terrace.

7 bedroom chalet, sleeps up to 16

This three-floored, 195-200m² chalet consists of a large living room with a fireplace, television, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, hot plates, traditional oven and microwave, extractor fan and refrigerator.

There are four bedrooms (one or two of which are on the ground floor) with one double bed or two single beds with a shower room and toilet. Another bedroom has a double bed and a bathroom and toilet (some have separate toilets), there are also two bedrooms with three single beds and bathroom or shower room and toilet. There is also a sauna and terrace.

Meals in Chalets Altiport, Alpe d'Huez

Your chalet will be ready on arrival - beds made, dinner ready and fridges stocked*, wine-cellars replenished, skis and lift passes all booked. But you won't see us. We'll be at the end of the phone, but there will be no contact, unless you need it. You and your family will be safe and looked-after, as we work in the background, providing everything you need.

Our contactless catering service comes with the choice of two pricing options, a fixed menu with food and drink included in the price, and our à la carte option which allows you greater flexibility to eat and drink whatever you desire and the cost of the food is on supplement, at cost price, and depending on what produce you choose to order.

For those looking for a simple packaged chalet price, we are offering an all-inclusive price, which includes rental of the chalet and your food and drink for the week. Included will be breakfast, afternoon tea, a three course dinner on 6 out of 7 nights, plus unlimited wine and some beers. We have prepared a delicious menu for the week, with a mix of ready prepared meals from a local delicatessen and easy to cook dishes or sides. All that will be required from you is to pop a few things in the oven and throw together a few ingredients to make a simple salad, or steam a few vegetables as sides to your main meal.

Perhaps you want the freedom to choose your own menus, or perhaps you'd prefer to eat out more than one evening during the week, or you just love to cook yourself and enjoy the holidays where you have time to do this in a relaxed way. That's where our à la carte contactless catering service comes in. As an alternative to the service detailed above, we will also offer a lower rate, which does not include the food and drink for the week and we will give you the opportunity to order the food and drink of your choice, at the local hypermarket rates, and bill you for this afterwards. Four days before arrival, you will receive a comprehensive provisions list with everything you could possibly need for your holiday. That might be oven-ready meals, or the ingredients you'll need for Bolognaise, Soufflés or Cheese Fondues. Dry goods, dairy, fresh fruit and veg, fresh meat or fish, beers, wines, champagne, whatever, all bought for you and stocked in advance.

Our aim is to provide the safest possible environment for a ski holiday, whilst staying as affordable as possible. The new way to holiday will be by enjoying the facilities, food and beverages but without the staff waiting on you hand and foot. That will keep things safe and affordable. However, for those in search of a little more luxury, we are able to provide drivers, chefs, daily cleaning, ski lessons etc, all of which can be discussed at the time of booking or with our concierge service prior to arrival.

*Please note that for the à la carte option, all food, drink, ski hire and lift passes come at additional costs and are not included in the chalet price. Provisions will be billed at cost price and can be ordered from the list that will be sent out to you, and ski hire and lift passes can be booked in advance with our preferential rates. For our fixed menu option, the price does not include ski hire and lift passes, but it does include breakfast and afternoon tea for 7 days, plus a 3-course dinner with beer and wine for 6 days.
