Chalet Nightingale, which sits alongside its sister Chalet Woodpecker' is a beautifully decorated chalet, in a superb location in Alpe d'Huez. The chalet sits on Avenue de l'Eclose, which is located at the most southernmost part of the main village, just off the main route into the centre of town. The town centre is only a 5 minute walk from the busy centre of Alpe d'Huez. From the chalet the easiest access for all levels to the piste is either via the lift Alpe Express or via the Telecentre Cabine - both just a few minutes' walk from the chalet, this is the easiest, quickest way to access both the piste at Bergers and Grands Rousse. You can ski back down to just beside the Alpe Express, under the Telecentre Cabine although it can be narrow in places and dependant on snow conditions.
The Chalet
Like its sister chalet Woodpecker', Nightingale' has been recently renovated and stylishly finished to a beautiful chalet which is elegantly furnished in a way that blends the traditional Alpine wood panelling with a light, airy and modern feel. With three bedrooms sleeping up to 6 guests, this is the perfect chalet for a family to enjoy on their own, or for a larger group when booked together with neighbouring Chalet Woodpecker.
Entrance to the chalet is on the ground floor, where you'll find a spacious ski storage area, complete with heated boot driers so you're guaranteed toasty feet each morning. If you take the stairs down to the lower ground floor, you'll find the wonderful relaxation area, complete with indoor hot tub, sauna and shower. The perfect spot to unwind after a tiring day on the slopes and ease any aches and pains that come with it.
On the first floor you'll find the open plan living room, kitchen and dining space. The room is light and airy, with high vaulted ceilings in the eaves of the building. Outside of the living space is a large balcony from which there are stunning views of the surrounding mountains and a great spot to enjoy an apres-ski drink if the weather is kind to you. The dining table and sitting room areas have ample space for 6-7 guests to sit comfortably. The kitchen is modern and stylishly finished, and comes fully equipped with an oven, four-ring induction hob, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, Nespresso machine and coffee percolator, so you'll have everything required to rustle up a stunning meal for your friends and family.
There are three bedrooms located on the first floor which follow the wood panelled walls and exposed beams that run through the rest of the chalet. The rooms are all spacious with modern en-suites. There are two twin bedrooms (90 x 200cm) with en-suite shower rooms and the third room also with twin beds, and room for an additional bed suitable for children under 11 years old. This room has an en-suite bathroom and WC, as well as a balcony.
If you're planning to drive, then there are four parking spaces located in front of the chalet between Chalet Woodpecker and Chalet Nightingale, please speak to our team to confirm how many spaces are available between each chalet. There is free WIFI throughout, so whether you want to spend a relaxing evening streaming your favourite series, or you need to do some work whilst you're away, you'll be well covered in this lovely chalet.

Meals in Chalet Nightingale, Alpe d'Huez
presents the next generation of chalet holidays, for a contactless world. Your chalet will be ready on arrival - beds made, dinner ready and fridges stocked*, wine-cellars replenished, skis and lift passes all booked. But you won't see us. We'll be at the end of the phone, but there will be no contact, unless you need it. You and your family will be safe and looked-after, as we work in the background, providing everything you need.
Our contactless catering service comes with the choice of two pricing options, a fixed menu with food and drink included in the price, and our à la carte option which allows you greater flexibility to eat and drink whatever you desire and the cost of the food is on supplement, at cost price, and depending on what produce you choose to order.
For those looking for a simple packaged chalet price, we are offering an all-inclusive price, which includes rental of the chalet and your food and drink for the week. Included will be breakfast, afternoon tea, a three course dinner on 6 out of 7 nights, plus unlimited wine and some beers. We have prepared a delicious menu for the week, with a mix of ready prepared meals from a local delicatessen and easy to cook dishes or sides. All that will be required from you is to pop a few things in the oven and throw together a few ingredients to make a simple salad, or steam a few vegetables as sides to your main meal.
Perhaps you want the freedom to choose your own menus, or perhaps you'd prefer to eat out more than one evening during the week, or you just love to cook yourself and enjoy the holidays where you have time to do this in a relaxed way. That's where our à la carte contactless catering service comes in. As an alternative to the service detailed above, we will also offer a lower rate, which does not include the food and drink for the week and we will give you the opportunity to order the food and drink of your choice, at the local hypermarket rates, and bill you for this afterwards. Four days before arrival, you will receive a comprehensive provisions list with everything you could possibly need for your holiday. That might be oven-ready meals, or the ingredients you'll need for Bolognaise, Soufflés or Cheese Fondues. Dry goods, dairy, fresh fruit and veg, fresh meat or fish, beers, wines, champagne, whatever, all bought for you and stocked in advance.
Our aim is to provide the safest possible environment for a ski holiday, whilst staying as affordable as possible. The new way to holiday will be by enjoying the facilities, food and beverages but without the staff waiting on you hand and foot. That will keep things safe and affordable. However, for those in search of a little more luxury, we are able to provide drivers, chefs, daily cleaning, ski lessons etc, all of which can be discussed at the time of booking or with our concierge service prior to arrival.
*Please note that for the à la carte option, all food, drink, ski hire and lift passes come at additional costs and are not included in the chalet price. Provisions will be billed at cost price and can be ordered from the list that will be sent out to you, and ski hire and lift passes can be booked in advance with our preferential rates. For our fixed menu option, the price does not include ski hire and lift passes, but it does include breakfast and afternoon tea for 7 days, plus a 3-course dinner with beer and wine for 6 days.
