Chalet Le Viking

Chalet Le Viking is a classic Alpine chalet in a fabulous piste-side location, close to the center of Alpe d’Huez. If you’re looking for that perfect combination of easy access to the slopes, and a short walk to the resort’s attractions and après-ski scene, this chalet will be ideal!

It’s less than one minute’s walk (100m) to the nearest ski lift from where you can link into the extensive and fabulously varied ski area of the Grandes Rousses. From the wide open slopes just above the village, to the guaranteed snow and more challenging runs on the Pic Blanc glacier, skiers of all abilities will be satisfied here.

The chalet’s interior is attractive and well planned, with the large open plan living/dining room with fireplace, offering the perfect space to socialize and appreciate the stunning views of the valley below, beyond the French doors and sun terrace. There is also a hot tub on the terrace for easing those leg muscles after a tough day on the slopes. An extensive refurbishment in the summer of 2016 truly brings the Chalet Le Viking with some of the best chalets that Alpe d'Huez has to offer from winter 2016/2017 on wards.

The 12 twin bedrooms are arranged over the two floors above the living area, six on each floor. Every bedroom has an en suite bathroom, and six of them also have a balcony with wonderful views over the resort and valley. The rooms on the second floor are partially under the eaves with sloping ceilings adding to the character of the property.

A sauna and ski locker room complete the chalet’s comprehensive facilities.

DINNER IN CHALETS
A tasty and innovative, freshly cooked dinner will be prepared for you six nights per week by your Chalet Host – or by an experienced and professional chef in our larger chalets – and served with a choice of wines. Our four-course adult-only chalet dinners start with canapés and an apéritif, followed by an appetizer, main course and dessert, and completed by coffee with chocolates to round off your evening. Your choice of complimentary quality wines is unlimited during the meal service, and freshly chilled water is also of course always available.

CHILDREN’S HIGH TEA
In Chalets and Chalet Hotels with family guests, High Tea provides children under 13 years with a healthy menu, tailored more towards children’s tastes and puréed food is available for infants on request. High Tea is at 5.30pm, and children do not join the main adult-only dinner.

ADULTS DINING WITH CHILDREN
Families who have booked the entire chalet may choose to eat separately (High Tea at 5:30pm) or all dine together at the later adult dinner time if children who have received a child discount pay the meal upgrade charge of £39 at the time of booking only.
