It’s brand new for winter 16/17, and sits above it’s sister chalet Les Cimes Blanches. The owner has lovingly finished Les Cimes Blances to a very high standard, even doing the carpentry and stonework himself, and the Grande Rochette will be just as beautiful when it’s complete - expect spacious, airy rooms and public areas, with a modern chalet feel. Plus, there’s a sauna and whirlpool downstairs for when you need a little extra relaxation.

The chalet is an ideal choice for couples who are after a bit of luxury, or families who will love the convenience of having childcare right next door (pre booking is essential).

At mealtimes, your "Finest" range chalet hosts will serve up tasty breakfasts, pre-dinner canapés and 3-course evening meals, as well as homemade cakes each afternoon.

The entrance to the chalet is up a flight of steps. There is no disabled entrance.

Families
Next door to Chalet Grande Rochette is our Pepi Penguin Nursery (6 months-4 years) and Whizz Kids Club (4-11 years) open to all guests staying in Plagne 1800.

The Pepi Penguin Nursery - (6 months-4 years) is run by our own qualified childcare staff and held in a dedicated room within the hotel equipped with games, toys and a special sleep area. Outdoor play included (weather and parental consent permitting).

A daily routine and activities report for your child
Activities vary daily. We'll find time for stories, singing, arts and crafts including painting and collage making, plus messy play in the sand tray and free play with age relevant toys set out for the children to choose what they want to do.

We're also really keen to take in some fresh mountain air each day, so aim to have an outdoor activity at least once a day, may be sledging, bumboarding, snowy walks, gondola ride or snow painting. And if your child is used to a sleep, we'll factor that in too.

The Whizz Kids Club (3-11 years) provides plenty of fun-filled days as our childcare staff offer a combination of care and skiing with Whizzclusive, which includes 6 x AM ski lessons, pick-up and drop-off from ski lessons, lunch and afternoon care by staff in the dedicated Whizz Kids club room.

* Lift passes aren't included as each child's needs are different. If and when your child feels confident enough to use the lifts, you'll need to buy a lift pass locally.

Activities vary daily – to include games, arts and crafts and storytime – and are often based around a theme.

We're also really keen to take in some fresh mountain air each day, so we aim to have an outdoor activity at least once a day – maybe sledging, bumboarding, bus bingo, snowman competitions or a treasure hunt.

Both clubs operate for 6 days and must be pre-booked to guarantee a place.

All our staff are UK-qualified, English-speaking and first-aid trained, and have had CRB and reference checks. And we prioritise maintaining the correct adult:child ratios. Our childcare is open to all customers staying in Plagne 1800 and Plagne Centre only.

Please note: Customers staying in Belle Plagne, Plagne Village, Plagne Aime 2000, Les Coches or Plagne Soleil should not book into Crystal Childcare as it is a bus ride away and not convenient.
