A very welcome return to Tignes! The Alpaka Lodge has been run as a small private hotel with a popular bar by British couple Jill and Sander for many years and we are delighted to be taking over this welcoming chalet for the forthcoming Winter.
Fantastically situated in the heart of Lac de Tignes, you can access both sides of the valley with a multitude of ski lifts and runs on your doorstep - either ski a gentle slope directly behind the Lodge to the Chaudannes and Paquis chair lifts, or a short walk to the foot of the Toviere for nursery slopes, ski school meeting points and choice of lifts. You could probably take a different route from the chalet each morning!. The resort facilities are on hand just a stroll from the Lodge including the excellent Sports centre with indoor pool, spa and fitness centre situated lakeside.
A traditional Tignes style building, the Alpaka is full of character and charm assuring our guests of a warm and welcoming stay. The dining room has picture windows on two sides affording wonderful mountain views. Bedrooms are all ensuite and have access to wifi.
The cosy and friendly public bar on the ground floor has a large central fireplace providing a great focal point and plenty of comfy seating. A perfect spot to sit back and relax with a cup of tea and slice of cake at afternoon tea before perhaps moving onto something stronger! Regulars will be delighted to know that Jill will be continuing to run the bar so maintaining the cosy, friendly atmosphere and delightful ambience that is so much part of the Alpaka Lodge. BT sports is available for sports fans so you don't need to miss your favourite matches and the bar hosts a varied Apres ski programme for you to enjoy……. without even having to put your coat on and venture outside!
So…… a comfortable bed, hot water, welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, good food and après ski on tap, not to mention some fantastic introductory offers – what more could you ask for!

Special Diets
Our Chalet staff always aim to please and create menus everybody likes. If given notice they are happy within reason to adapt their menus to your specific tastes and dietary requests but please do bear in mind that chalets are mostly private houses and do not have vast kitchens or teams of chefs to cope with cooking separate meals for everyone!. We provide a vegetarian alternative for guests that don't eat meat or that evening choice of meat or fish. Please ensure that we know about any dietary requests including gluten or dairy free well in advance of your holiday and we will do our best to assist, but you must be happy to compromise with our chalet menu and accept that we cannot offer a completely alternative menu for you. We encourage you to chat to our chalet staff the week prior to your arrival to run through the menu and to check with regards bringing any items with.
Please note, we cannot provide totally vegan meals or kosher and cannot guarantee a nut free environment.
Children's Supper
We provide a child friendly supper with two courses of home cooked and nutritious food, at around 6pm for all children under 12years. We encourage you to chat to your chalet staff before arrival with regards your childrens meals so they know they are on the right track with their menu! if you have sole use of a chalet and you would prefer your children to eat a normal dinner with you at 8pm there is a £50 upgrade. For those in a shared chalet it is generally expected that under 12s would have the early supper.
