There is skiing above 2500m and your area ski pass, will allow access to the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier, so snow is guaranteed all season long.
Few ski areas are set in such idyllic setting as Zell am See, its spectacular lakeside location becomes a focal point of the Europa Sports Region. During the winter this scenic town comes alive and offer fantastic slope side après ski, and has long been one of our top family resorts.
Kaprun is slightly smaller than Zell am See but is situated at the foot the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier, where it is possible to ski 365 days a year so it is exceptionally snow sure. However there is still an abundance of great après bars as well as many excellent restaurants and shops.
We have some amazing hotels and chalets in Zell am See and Kaprun, in some unbeatable locations where it is possible to fly form your local regional airport. Please call our Ski Experts on 02037780123 and see if we can find you a ski holiday in the Europa Sports Region.

Welcome to the Europa Sports Region, this ski area includes two great resorts Zell am See and Kaprun. Both these resorts are breathtaking and are famous for its spectacular lake, which freezes during the winter. There are 138km of slopes, serviced by 53 modern lifts. Besides its beautiful lake the Europa Sports Region is home to the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier, so snow is ensured during the winter skiing season
The best beginner area is at the top of the City Xpress, which offer wonderful views and has great snow conditions.
There are many wide-open runs on the Sonnealm that are perfectly suited for intermediates. If you fancy more of an adventure take the Hirschkogel lift over to the Areit and enjoy one of the longest runs in the area from the top of the Schttabfahrt down to Schuttdorf. One of our favorite runs is from the Schmittenhohe cable car down to the town, it offers breathtaking views and is tree-lined.
There are some great off-piste routes from the top of the Sonnenalm and some mogul runs. If this is not enough for you, you purchase the Salzburg Super Pass and this will cover you in Saalbach and Hinterglemm, which you can reach by bus and costs about 9 euros.
Snowboarders will enjoy the reds and blues up on the Sonnealm. There are 3 snowparks and a super pipe that is 160m long and 6 meters high. One of the snowparks is situated right by the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier at 2900m high and offers an abundance of space to practice new moves on.
Whether you are up on the mountain or down in the town there are parties everywhere. Night owls can party into the early hours of the morning, in one of the Après bars, ski huts or alpine huts. Popular bars include Pavillon, Lenerhosn, Cabrio, Schnaps-Hans and Crazy Daisy.
For those who prefer a more quite setting there is a fantastic range of shops and cafes, and why not try local specialties like Kasnocken and mulled wine, in one of the rustic ski huts? For those who are more romantic why not enjoy some of the most picturesque views in Austria from the ski huts high up on the mountains?
