Kaprun
Kaprun is a snow sure traditional Tyrolean village, situated at the foot of the breathtaking Kitsteinhorn Glacier. The Kitsteinhorn Glacier offers the biggest glacier skiing south of Salzburg as well as some spectacular views across the valley to Zell am See. Kaprun also benefits from a short transfer thanks to its proximity to Salzburg, and with skiing over 3000m snow is assured.
Kaprun is linked to Zell am See and forms part of the Europa Sports Region, which is an extensive ski area great for all levels. There is also now a link from Zell am See to Saalbach meaning keen skiers can access 408km of piste if purchasing the Alpin Card Lift Pass. Kaprun is perfect for children and first time skiers as thee are nursery slopes in the village as well as its own ski area on the Maiskogel, perfect to learn on or to find your ski legs again.
Holidays to Kaprun are ideal for intermediates and there are some great wide runs with spectacular views up on the Kitsteinhorn Glacier.

As with most Austrian resorts a drink off the slopes is the norm, Kaprun is no exception. There is a great choice of après bars to choose from the perfect way to end the day. If you are look for some really lively après ski then make sure you finish your day off at SchnapsHans Bar in the neighboring resort of Zell am See. The Owners of the bar like to tell people that it is the best après ski in the Alpes but why not check it out for yourself and make up your own mind!
For those who are looking for something a little more romantic, please try one of the more rustic ski huts. Or why not have a go at the Tauern Spa with its 11 swimming pools and 10 saunas or steam rooms, the perfect way to relax.
