Mayrhofen ski holidays take you to a stunning town within the Ziller river valley in the Austrian Tyrol. Mayrhofen is a snow sure resort situated near the Hintertux glacier standing at a mighty 3250m, ideal for late season skiing and consequently very popular in March and April. Mayrhofen is often considered to be one of the world’s top ten ski resorts not just because of its spectacular scenery but also its large and varied ski area.
The ski resort itself has 157km of piste with access to the 86km on the Hintertux glacier included in your area lift pass and just a short (free!) bus journey away. The ski area is linked to Finkenburg, Lanersbach and Schwendau creating the massive Zillertal 3000 area. This extensive area has access to around 600km of piste, perfect for adventurous skiers and snowboarders during the winter, and is often popular with groups for both New Year and Easter ski holidays.
Our Mayrhofen ski accommodation includes catered ski chalets and many ski hotels. Whether you’re on a budget or looking for a luxury hotel we have packages departing on Saturdays from mid-December through to the end of April from most regional airports within the UK.
The ski resort of Mayrhofen is a beautiful picturesque resort (as you’d expect from Austria) nestled between the Penken and Ahorn mountains, and located only a short transfer away from Innsbruck. With a transfer time of approximately 1 hour it’s one of the shortest transfers in the Alps, ideal for ski and snowboarding holidays or for family ski trips.
Although the Mayrhofen ski resort is at 600m there are 2 main lifts in town, the fast Penken Gondola next to the Sport Hotel Strass and the Ahorn cable car, these quickly take you up to high skiable areas. There’s one amazing piste that runs into town that is a fast downhill run through the trees; here at iSki, we think it’s one of the best runs on the planet!
