Pamporovo is situated high in the Rhodope Mountains and is located at the foot of Mount Snezhanka. The town is surrounded by a spectacular forest and stands at an eye watering 1650m it is one of the highest resorts in Eastern Europe, and has an excellent snow record. Pamporovo is the ideal resort for beginners and intermediate skiers this winter, largely thanks to its long green and blue runs, as well as some outstanding nursery slopes.

The Resort of Pamporovo is a beginner’s paradise and is perfectly suited for families and first time skiers who just want to get a feel for the sport. It is one of the highest resorts in Eastern Europe, with a good snow record and the local ski school has a good reputation. With over 100 English speaking ski instructors and attractive town surrounded by an spectacular forest why not give it a go this winter?
Besides the resorts great value, some of the best features of this resort for learner skiers and children are; its outstanding snow record and that the resort boasts over 200 days of sunshine a year. Ski packs (hire, lessons and pass) in Pamporovo, cost only a fraction of what they do in some of the other European ski resorts, so it’s a great place to learn.
There are also at least 9 ski hire shops or places to securely leave your skis at the bottom of the slopes, perfect for parents who don’t want to carry their children’s skis.
The resort is great for improving intermediates there are several long reds on offer notably the Snezhanka 5, 3300m and Stoykite 1 that is 3640m to have a play on.
The most popular Black run is “The Wall” which is the Snezhanka 2 run which is 700m run with a displacement of 285. There are some good off piste routes why not hire a local guide?
The resort has plenty of green and blue runs to practice on. If you’re more experienced why not try the “Fun Park” that is filled with rails and kickers?
Pamporovo is one of the most popular resorts in Bulgaria, and has lots to offer skiers and snowboarders who like to party, after a hard day on the slopes. Each bar has their own unique style and atmosphere, and none of them look similar. Most bars have “Happy Hours” at different times of the day and a good selection of imported drinks and many local varieties at some great prices on offer.
Popular bars include Bj’s that is within the Perelik hotel and Daks, found on the ground floor of the Snezhanka hotel. The hottest bar this winter is said to be the White Hart, which is a traditional pub with an outstanding atmosphere.
