Skiing holidays in Nendaz are ideal for skiers who want experience the skiing that is on offer in the world famous 4 Valleys ski area, but who do not want to pay through the nose to stay in Verbier. Nendaz is sometimes thought of as the second resort in the 4 Valleys because Verbier is so famous, but it has its own character and charm and many skiers year in year out specifically choose to stay in a Nendaz over Verbier because of what it has to offer.
Nendaz is located right in the middle of the 4 Valleys and it is an ideal location from which to explore the 412km of piste that is on offer in the area. With a resort height of 1500m and skiing all the way up to 3330m in the area, it is also a good bet for snow security no matter what time of the season you are thinking off skiing. It is a lovely traditional pretty Swiss Ski Village but it has developed over time into a modern resort with all of the amenities that skiers expect in the 21st century such as a well equips sports centre as well as plenty of shops bars and restaurants.

Although the 4 Valleys is thought of as an area with tough skiing, beginner skiers are well catered for in Nendaz. In just one short bubble ride from the resort centre you are right at at the beginners area with magic carpet and rope pull lifts which are perfect for beginners to get up and down the nursery slopes without having to get any scaring chairlifts or button lifts.
With over 400km of piste and a whole range of blue red and black runs on offer, intermediate skiers will be in paradise in Nendaz and the surrounding 4 Valleys ski area. You could almost ski for a 6 days straight without having to ski the same run twice (apart from the runs that you need you get back down into the resort at the end of the day. If you plan your skiing at the start of the week then you will easily be kept on your toes for a week and at the end of it you will be crying out for more.
Advanced skiers on a holiday in Nendaz will definitely want to fe the full area pass so as to benefit from the full 412km of piste in the area, but it is the off piste that 4 Valleys is really renowned for. Check out the marked but unpisted itinerary routes that the area is famous for and then once you have got your feet go and explore the back country and lay some fresh tracks.
If you are on a snowboarding holiday in Nendaz then you are there for1 of 3 things. To tear up some lines on the huge amount of pisted slopes, to head in search of waste deep powder or to throw some shapes in the park. The baby park in Nendaz is ideal for learning on or for getting to feet back but the crown jewel is the Burton Progression Park where thet even have instructors on hand to give you a few hints and tips. There is also a decent snow park over in Verbier.
If you are looking for powder in Nendaz and the surrounding 4 Valleys area then try out some of the marked yet unpisted itineraries. If there has just been a fresh snow fall then these route are guaranteed some nice powder if you can get out early. However, the 4 Valleys is thought of as a bit of a European Mecca for off piste skiing and so it attracts lots of skiers that will be out at the crack of dawn if it has snowed the night before. If you want to make the most of the conditions then make sure you are out with them or you might find that by the time you get to where you where planning to go it has already been tracked out.
While the après ski in Nedaz might not be quite up thee with its big brother over in Verbier, there is still plenty going on, with late night venues in which to party through to the early hours should you wish to do so. When coming straight of the slopes why not try one of the terrace bars like Les Etagnes or Lime It's Up and then make your way further into the village to check out one of the themed bars that are on offer such as the Cactus Saloon, Mexican themed bar. To cary the party on on even further into the early hours the place to be is L'Oxygène.
There are loads of winter walking trails to be found in Nendaz as well as a host of snowshoeing trails as well. On top of this you can do sledging, snow tubing, paragliding and ice-skating.
